The Eternal Ones

Book Synopsis (from Goodreads)

What if love refused to die?

Haven Moore can’t control her visions of a past with a boy called Ethan, and a life in New York that ended in fiery tragedy. In our present, she designs beautiful dresses for her classmates with her best friend Beau. Dressmaking keeps her sane, since she lives with her widowed and heartbroken mother in her tyrannical grandmother’s house in Snope City, a tiny town in Tennessee. Then an impossible group of coincidences conspire to force her to flee to New York, to discover who she is, and who she was.

In New York, Haven meets Iain Morrow and is swept into an epic love affair that feels both deeply fated and terribly dangerous. Iain is suspected of murdering a rock star and Haven wonders, could he have murdered her in a past life? She visits the Ouroboros Society and discovers a murky world of reincarnation that stretches across millennia. Haven must discover the secrets hidden in her past lives, and loves¸ before all is lost and the cycle begins again.

Review

I was really wanting to read this! I was immediately attracted to it since it was about reincarnation, something I’ve always been interested in, and Miller portrayed that well.
I mean, to know you love a person, to actually remember things about previous life with them, even, is something that I could read on and on about.

So, at first, this was a really intriguing read for me.

And then excitement built up, and it was good then. But somewhere along that way it got really not good for me. Haven is rather naive. She believes anything she’s told, something that’s pretty dangerous when going to NYC to meet your past life lover who’s really famous and meeting up with a society full of enemies from your past life.

I’d just sit there and think: Did you really believe that? Seriously?

And I get if a part of it was her character, that happens, but Haven was just really dumb at times.

Books Worth Reading:

Anyway! Other than dumbness, this book was an okay read. I loved reading about the New York atmosphere, having recently experienced it myself. I LOVED reading about past lives. It was so interesting to me.

The characters are all pretty rememberable, especially her best friend,Beau. I’m a sucker for the ending, I suppose.

Books Worth Reading:

All in all: It was an okay read. I loved the concept more than anything, though.

I borrowed them from a blogger friend!
